Most of our walks go into the hills. Participants are reminded that the following gear must be taken: walking boots, rucksack, hat, gloves, warm clothing (not jeans!), spare sweater, water and a hot drink, lunch, extra food and of course, waterproof jacket and trousers. A whistle and torch should be carried, particularly during the winter months. Participants must satisfy themselves that the walk is suitable for their abilities. You can take advice, by ringing the walks leader whose telephone number is given. No liability will be accepted for loss or injury that occurs as a result of taking part. An adult must accompany young people (under18).

There is no sound quite like the stirring sound of a Welsh male voice choir, with the passion and hwyl that blends the choral tradition of the past with musical talent of the 21st century. St Mary's Church has presented a series of male voice choir concerts on Sunday evenings during the summer every year since 1989 - and this year is no exception. We will be welcoming the following choirs in 2009:

The Owain Glyndwr was set up by The Sleeping Giant Foundation in 2005 as a way of celebrating the talent of people living in the Swansea valley, increasing tourism and economy and as a way of educating and highlighting our history and culture. We chose Owain Glyndwr to represent our Festival as he was Wales' greatest Prince who still inspires people to this day. He knew that Wales held creative, artistic, musical, forward thinking people as we do today.
